I have worked in the insurance industry for 15 years now and in financial services for longer. In the early days I was happy to sit and wait for opportunities to come to me. They did not come that often, but when they did, I grabbed them. As I got older and more confident I started to seek out opportunities, or should I say, recognise opportunities and push myself to them.
We can do anything we set our minds too if we just believe we can.
My proudest career moment so far was when I put myself forward for a role on the leadership team. I was not sure I could do it, but I got the role and I could do it!
My advice would be that we can do anything we set our minds too if we just believe we can. Always look for opportunities to learn and grow, no matter what your role is – embrace the fear, do not fear it.
