Mary Quinn | Marsh
I started working at Marsh nearly 17 years ago. I arrived at Bowing Marsh on a six-month contract, carrying out traditional secretarial tasks to look after the CEO. Over time I became responsible for managing our Practice’s group of assistants. I enjoyed coaching them and being able to share my learnings from my experience in insurance and life in general. Outside of this, I have been involved in many extra-curricular activities, in particular my charity work, which has been incredibly rewarding. Being a person that everyone in the team knows has its advantages when motivating colleagues to get involved – it was a massive honour to be the Charity Champion for Marsh in 2021 through a digital challenge in which I managed to raise the most money.

In January I moved to a new, exciting role within Marsh – I am now supporting the Head of Insurance Innovation for Climate and Sustainability and the Global Head of FINPRO. My learning journey continues in these two new parts of the business, particularly the climate and sustainability team who are tackling issues that are fast becoming important to so many of our clients. The most valuable piece of career advice I could give is be a good listener and expand your capabilities and skills.
