My first job was as the first female broker for a Lloyd’s insurance broker. I then decided that the claims area was for me and accepted a role as a claim’s handler for an insurer, in an all-male team. After being promoted to manage the volume claims team, we expanded and I recruited – employing more women, changing the dynamics of the team. I have subsequently returned to being a broker and have continued to support women whenever possible, some of whom have gone on to take up senior roles in the London Market.

A notable piece of advice I would give is to treat people how you would like to be treated, regardless of what level you or an individual is within the business; the world is a small place and the insurance world is even smaller.
I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, eating in good restaurants, travelling when the opportunity arrives and enjoying life!
