I have worked in the insurance industry for over 30 years and began my career as an actuary in the Canadian reinsurance market, achieving Fellowship status in 1995. In 2004, I made the move from Canada to London to take up an underwriting post in the treaty personal accident market. Travel has been a constant in my life, for work and pleasure, with immersion in different cultures and often the sunshine vying for prominence in my travel priorities!

In 2011 I expanded my underwriting portfolio into the political risk, credit and bond reinsurance classes. I joined Liberty in 2012 in order to establish a financial risks reinsurance team. In eight years this team has grown to incorporate seven different office locations across the world and underwrites USD 600m in annual premiums.
I have a passion for the creative arts and performance, and enjoy sculling on the Thames for recreational and meditative purposes. (Membership of a boat club has an excellent social side!)
I believe the most valuable advice I could give is to take responsibility for developing and controlling your own career, be reliable, show up, deliver your promises, and most importantly, keep it simple.
