Clare LeBeq | Specialist Risk Group
The defining moment of my career was being appointed CEO of the LMG. For the preceding 15 years I had focused on operational excellence. The role at the LMG gave me the opportunity to show that I had skills and experience in other areas spanning political relations, talent management and thought leadership.
It is possible to change the direction of your career even when you are in your 50s.
It also propelled me further into the limelight and enabled me to show other women that it is possible to change the direction of your career even when you are in your 50s. My most valuable career advice is to say yes to the things that scare you. Do not always play it safe. If you do not operate outside of your comfort zone, valuable opportunities will pass you by. Now I am at SRG, having an amazing time with people that really value people. In my spare time I do yoga – it was my saviour during lock down. I also love thrill seeking. This may mean sky diving, extreme zip wiring or abseiling anything to get an adrenaline rush!
