Debbie Bullock | Aviva
I’m a proud Yorkshire lass, born and bred and have dedicated my entire working life (35 years so far) to one company, Aviva – to its people, customers, and communities. One company, lots of roles, but currently I lead our award-winning Wellbeing@Aviva strategy and share the power of workplace wellbeing externally too. It makes commercial sense for employees to be well as they will be more productive and improve performance. Work should have a net positive impact on wellbeing. Despite no further education since leaving school at 16, I’ve just completed a Degree Apprenticeship, supported by Aviva. I now hold a BA (Hons) in Management and Leadership, proving that age is no barrier to opportunity.
Say yes to any opportunities you can. You never know what doors it will open.
The advice I would give others is say yes to any opportunities you can. You never know what doors it will open, what passions it will ignite. Believe in, and value, yourself and manage your wellbeing – your career is a marathon not a sprint, and you want to be well enough to enjoy retirement when the time comes. Outside of work, as well as spending time with my family, I am a keen amateur baker as it creates mindful moments for me and means I can share the love with others by feeding them!
